Season 2 of Nag Hotel is due on Friday 28th August, so with that in mind, here is a guide to everything you need to know so far…
What is Nag Hotel?
Nag Hotel is an animated video series on YouTube that follows the adventures of the horses that live in ‘the hotel’ (ie. the stable yard).
So is it a documentary?
No. It’s pretty surreal. The ‘adventures’ so far have included wild parties, exploding televisions, horses smoking, drinking and flying into space.
I see. Not a documentary then.
No.
And who’s in it?
Well, the main characters are Prince and Geoffrey. Prince is old and irritable and Geoffrey is excitable and, well, perhaps not that bright.
And they get on well?
Not really. Geoffrey seems very keen to be friends with Prince, but Prince would be far happier if Geoffrey stayed a long way away and just let him doze in peace.
Any other characters?
Yes. In Season 1 there was Dylan, who may or may not be Welsh, Ingram the incredibly stupid stable dog, Geoffrey’s cousin Daphne who Prince fell madly in love with, and Sarge and Trotter, the police horses.
There are police horses?
Yes. There needs to be with Prince and Geoffrey.
Is it for kids then? It seems a bit silly…
Not really, no, but kids might like it. There’s nothing actually offensive but quite a lot of implied swearing, and a few references to drinking, smoking, drugs and porn. Actually, on second thoughts, maybe it’s not so good for kids after all.
So, what’s the deal with Season 2?
Well, there are 8 new episodes which will be released every Friday at 7pm from August 28th 2020. These will be using YouTube’s ‘Premiere’ feature, so will show at 7pm on the dot as a live showing where viewers can chat with each other and with Skint Dressage Daddy who makes them, and then will be available as per normal on YouTube after that.
OK. I don’t have a very good attention span though. Will I get bored?
Unlikely. Apart from the fact that it’s very funny, the episodes are also very short. Season 1 episodes are anything from 45 seconds to about 2 and a half minutes long each. You can binge watch the whole 10 episodes in 17 minutes! Season 2 has got a little longer with some episodes even a mighty 3 minutes long, but it’s not exactly Gone With the Wind.
OK, I’m in. Where do I go to watch them then?
Head on over to Skint Dressage Daddy’s YouTube channel. You can watch all of Season 1 and a trailer for Season 2.
Thanks. Geofreeeeeeeyyyy!
I see you’re watching them already….
